Kiwi Fruit

This funny looking fruit comes to us from China. It has an fuzzy skin that while edible, is typically removed before eating. The flesh is a beautiful green color flecked with black, edible seeds. It is a slightly sweet, slightly tart fruit. It is also called a Chinese gooseberry. To store fresh kiwifruit, it can be kept in the refrigerator for 2-3 weeks. To ripen it faster, store at room temperature for 2-3 days. Kiwifruit is an excellent source of vitamin C and potassium.
