Beer makes batters better, meat more tender, and sauces more flavorful.

Made popular in malls in the 1980s, this classic drink has actually been around since the 1920s when the first Orange Julius drink stand opened in Los Angeles.
2/3 cup frozen orange juice concentrate, unthawed
1 cup water
1 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 1/2 cup ice cubes
Combine all the ingredients in a blender. Process on high speed until blended and frothy.
Serve immediately in tall glasses.

Not to be confused with evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk is very sweet (and very sticky) and used primarily in desserts.

Can you use almond milk in this recipe or will it change the taste?
To me most almond milk tastes different than regular milk but if you enjoy the taste then it will work just fine.

Love this recipe and it tastes so much like Orange Julius. And don't believe the Cool whip version of this recipe - that is nasty and contains way too many chemicals! This one is THE one! (actually the one with egg whites was best but with all the salmonella scares it's not worth the risk)

My kids and I LOVE this. When they want a treat, they ask for this. I can not keep it in my home for long. I could drink this everyday!
a much better recipe for this is simply mix orange juice with cool whip, add a bit of sugar and blend in blender.

this is really good and refreshing. I added 6 ice cubes per serving, to make a thicker drink. kaanrud, brookings, oregon
