Ah, the unassuming envelope of onion soup mix. It's more than just for onion soup (or dip). It adds tremendous flavor (and convenience) in all these recipes.
Basic Fresh Strawberry Pie

1 quart fresh strawberries
3/4 cup water
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 cup cream, whipped
1 pie shell (9 inch size), baked
directions
Line baked pie shell with fresh strawberries. Reserve 1 cup berries for garnish.
Simmer 1 cup of berries with the water for 3-4 minutes. Combine cornstarch, lemon juice and sugar, cook until mixture is thick and clear.
Pour over berries in baked pie shell and chill well. Whip cream and top pie, decorate with whole berries.
