Your favorite childhood treat gets a chocolate makeover. The simple addition of chocolate syrup turns these marshmallow cereal bars into a chocoholic's dream.
1/4 cup butter
40 large marshmallows
1/2 cup chocolate syrup
6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
Heavily grease a 9x11-inch baking dish.
Place the butter in a saucepan over low heat. When melted, stir in the marshmallows. Cook, stirring occasionally with a buttered spatula, until the marshmallows are completely melted. Remove the pan from the heat.
Stir in the chocolate syrup and Rice Krispies cereal. Mix well. Immediately transfer the mixture to the greased baking dish and press gently to fit the cereal mixture in the pan.
Let the Rice Krispie treats cool for 15 minutes then slice with a sharp knife. Store the treats in an airtight container.

Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.
It may look like a sad little package shoved in the back of your freezer, but frozen spinach actually has a lot of culinary uses (and some may surprise you).

I really didn't expect a mere half cup of chocolate syrup to make these so chocolately tasting, but they definitely were. I had the same issue as ac/dcfan below: they tended to fall apart in your hand as you ate them. Refrigerating them helped.

I love rice krispie bars but I love the chocolate ones even more! I spread the top with a layer of melted chocolate chips to give it sort of a frosting.
I followed the recipe exactly, but substituted cocoa krispies for rice krispies. For some reason they wouldn't stick together but fall apart and melt in your hand. The only way we could eat them was by putting them in the refridgerator and eating them quickly. Also, we had to big of a pan for the recipe, double the recipe if you are using a larger pan. We still can't figure out why they wouldn't stick together. Don't use cocoa krispies!

Easy to make. I used a 14 x9 pan. Use smaller if you want thicker pieces. Wet your hands to push into place. The stuff sticks to spatula etc.

My husband wanted me to make chocolate rice crispy treats. I had an idea on how to make them chocolate, but this recipe was very helpful. It was very easy to make and had a pleasant chocolate taste. It also was very easy to make and I received a bunch of compliments. The next time I make this recipe I am going to try cocoa crispies instead of rice crispies. Thanks for the recipe.
