June 17th, 2025 is National Apple Strudel Day
The oldest known recipe for apple strudel (Apfelstrudel) is from Austria. It was handwritten in 1696! A check of our apple strudel recipes was unable to determine if anyone from the Vienna State Library has ever submitted an apple strudel recipe to CDKitchen. So it is as yet unknown whether CDK can lay claim to having the 'original' recipe.
