ingredients
6 eggs, separated
1/2 cup cold water
1 1/2 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/4 cup sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup walnuts, chopped
3/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
directions
Beat egg yolks until thick and lemon colored. Add water and continue to beat in sugar gradually. Add vanilla. Fold in sifted flour, cinnamon, salt and nuts.
Beat egg whites and cream of tartar until stiff. Fold into egg yolk mixture.
Pour into ungreased 10 inch tube pan. Bake at 325 degrees F for 60 to 70 minutes.
