Hot Water Sponge Cake

ingredients
1 1/2 cup sifted cake flour
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup sugar
6 egg yolks, beaten well until thick and lemon colored
1/2 cup boiling water
1 teaspoon lemon extract
directions
Sift flour once, measure, add baking powder and salt, and sift together three times.
Add sugar gradually to egg yolks, mixing thoroughly. Add water, then flour and lemon extract, beating well.
Bake in ungreased tube pan in slow oven (350 degrees F) for 45 minutes. Remove from oven and invert pan for 1 hour, or until cold.
