Sour Cream Substitute

Powdered milk and vinegar do the trick for a thick sour cream substitute perfect for chili, fajitas, or baked potatoes.

ingredients

1 cup powdered milk PLUS"PLUS" means this ingredient in addition to the one on the next line, often with divided uses
2 tablespoons powdered milk
1/2 cup boiling water
1 teaspoon vinegar

directions

Pour water into bowl; add milk and mix well. Add vinegar a little at a time while stirring. Mix until smooth.

Mixture will thicken if allowed to stand in refrigerator for a few hours and can be used in any recipe calling for commercial sour cream.
