ingredients
1 1/2 cup dry (uncooked) chickpeas
1 1/2 cup dry (uncooked) lentils
1 1/2 cup dry (uncooked) brown rice
1 1/2 cup dry (uncooked) soybeans
1 1/2 cup dry (uncooked) split peas
1 1/2 cup dry (uncooked) rolled oats
3/4 cup bread crumbs
3/4 cup cornmeal
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons vegetable broth powder
2 teaspoons onion powder
2 teaspoons powdered dried mushrooms
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 teaspoon curry powder
directions
Pulse all ingredients in a blender or food processor until mixture is completely powdered. Store in a zip-top bag in the freezer until ready to use.
When ready to use, combine 1 cup dry mix with 2/3 cup boiling liquid (vegetable stock, tomato juice, clear soup, etc.). Stir and let stand for 15 minutes.
Form into patties and cook in a lightly oiled pan over medium-high heat until burgers are cooked through and outside is crispy.
One cup makes 4 patties.
