This Italian cheese is so versatile that it can be used in both sweet and savory recipes from cheesecakes to lasagnas.

2 teaspoons salt
1/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons dry milk
3 1/2 cups bread flour
1/2 cup wheat flour
To Prepare
2/3 cup water or milk, heated slightly
1 tablespoon fat such as oil, butter or shortening
1 teaspoon bread machine yeast
OR
1 1/2 teaspoon active dry yeast
Combine the salt, sugar, dry milk powder, bread flour, and wheat flour in a bowl. Mix well. Divide the mixture between two freezer zip-top plastic bags. Each bag should be just scant (less than) 2 1/4 cups of mix.
Store the bags in the freezer for up to 6 months.
To use the mix, combine the contents of one bag with water or milk, fat, and yeast in your bread machine in the order recommended by the machine manufacturer. Use the white bread setting, light crust. Makes a 1-pound loaf.

Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.
Ah, the unassuming envelope of onion soup mix. It's more than just for onion soup (or dip). It adds tremendous flavor (and convenience) in all these recipes.
