Frozen chocolate custard is a dreamy, creamy, and rich dessert that is perfect for any chocolate lover.
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup cocoa powder
4 egg yolks
2 cups heavy cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
7 teaspoons artificial sweetener (or to taste)
Combine the first measure of heavy cream, water, cocoa powder, and egg yolks in mixing bowl. Mix on low speed with an electric mixer until smooth.
Pour the cocoa mixture into a saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until it just starts to bubble on the edges. Do not let it boil.
Pour the custard to a covered container and chill for 2-3 hours.
Transfer the custard to an ice cream machine. Add the remaining ingredients and then process as directed by your ice cream manufacturer.
