ingredients
2 pounds day lily buds
5 hot red pepper pods
5 cloves garlic
1 quart white vinegar
1/2 cup water
6 tablespoons salt
1 tablespoon celery seed
directions
Wash and drain lilly buds. Pack neatly in 5 hot, sterilized pint jars. Place 1 pepper pod and 1 whole garlic clove in each jar.
Place remaining ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Pour over lily buds in jars and seal.
Keep sealed and in a cool, dark place for 8 weeks before using. Serve cold as an appetizer with cocktails.
