under 30 minutes
ingredients
2 baguettes
1/4 cup superfine sugar
1 cup olive oil
4 ripe pears, preferably Anjou or Bosc
6 ounces cream cheese
6 ounces blue cheese
directions
Cut bread into 1/4-inch-thick slices. Lightly toast until golden on both sides. Prepare grill.
In a small saucepan, heat sugar and olive oil until sugar melts. Cut pears into 1/4-inch slices and brush with sugar and oil mixture.
Place pears on hot grill and cook until done, turning once as needed. Pears should char lightly during cooking.
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine equal parts cream cheese and blue cheese. Heat in microwave until very soft, about 20 seconds. Stir to blend.
Spread cheeses onto toasted bread slices, then place pears on top.
