The name, vodka, comes from the Russian phrase zhiznennaia voda, or "water of life". It can be made from everything from potatoes to beets. It's considered to be fairly flavorless which makes it a great liquor for mixed drinks.

An easy blend of oats, maple syrup, and assorted nuts and seeds turns out deliciously crunchy oven-baked granola. Great for adding to yogurt and fruit for breakfast, or just snacking by the handful.
6 cups rolled oats
2 cups mixed nuts and seeds such as sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, chopped walnuts, pecans, almonds, or cashews
1 cup dried unsweetened shredded coconut
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, or to taste
1 dash salt
1/2 cup honey or maple syrup, or to taste
1 cup raisins or chopped dried fruit, optional
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Combine the oats, nuts and/or seeds, coconut, cinnamon, salt, and honey in a bowl and mix well to coat everything. Spread the granola mixture in an even layer on a sheet pan. Place the pan in the oven and bake at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally until lightly browned and crisp.
Remove the pan from the oven and place on a cooling rack. Stir the raisins or dried fruit into the granola. Let the granola cool to room temperature then store in an airtight container.

Ah, the unassuming envelope of onion soup mix. It's more than just for onion soup (or dip). It adds tremendous flavor (and convenience) in all these recipes.

This is an easy recipe to make, very flexible to allow whichever ingredients you like to include in your granola.

I'm glad that I doubled this recipe. It's delicious and is equally good on top of plain yogurt. I will keep this recipe and plan to use it often. It was easy to prepare and the ingredients are all staples in our home.
