A cheap meal popular with college students. It simply consists of warm beans, cheese, and bacon piled on top of slice of bread.
1 slice bread
1 slice American cheese
2 tablespoons canned beans (kidney beans work well, but pick your favorite)
2 slices bacon
Toast as many slices of bread as to go around for those who will eat.
Put slices of cheap American cheese on each piece of bread. Open a can of beans and spread a spoonful or two on top of the cheese. Now, put slices of bacon on top of the beans.
Put the whole mess on top of a piece of aluminum foil and broil it in the oven until bacon is cooked and cheese is melted. Serve hot.

Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.
