It may look like a sad little package shoved in the back of your freezer, but frozen spinach actually has a lot of culinary uses (and some may surprise you).

Traditional Asian flavors bring together the flank steak and snow peas in this easy stir-fry recipe.

1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
1/4 pound fresh snow peas, trimmed
2 tablespoons oyster sauce
2 tablespoons Chinese rice wine or dry sherry
1/2 teaspoon sugar
2 teaspoons oil
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon minced ginger
1/2 onion, chopped
Combine the cornstarch and soy sauce in a medium bowl and mix until smooth. Add the sliced flank steak and stir to coat the meat in the mixture.
Bring a pan of water to a boil over high heat. Add the snow peas and cook for 1 minute. Drain well then run under cold water. Drain again.
Combine the oyster sauce, rice wine, and sugar in a bowl and mix until the sugar dissolves.
Heat the oil in a wok over medium-high heat.
Add the garlic, ginger, and onion and cook, stirring constantly, for 15 seconds. Add the beef and cook, stirring constantly until just browned. Stir in the oyster sauce mixture. Bring the sauce to a boil while stirring constantly.
Add the snow peas and cook, stirring constantly, for 30 seconds.
Serve the beef and snow peas over rice, if desired.
