ingredients

Topping

1 cup brown sugar
4 tablespoons flour
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
4 tablespoons melted butter
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Cake

1 1/2 cup sifted all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1 cup sour cream
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon vanilla or almond extract
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt

directions

Mix topping ingredients together; set aside. Preheat 9" or 10" electric skillet to 250 degrees F.

In a large bowl, combine eggs, sour cream and vanilla, then add to sifted dry ingredients.

Grease electric skillet after heating to 250 degrees F. Lightly sprinkle flour over skillet and spread the batter evenly in the pan. Cover pan; bake for 50 minutes at 250 degrees F, or until the 'toothpick' test comes out clean.

After baking, spread topping over cake and bake 10 minutes longer.

  1. girl_vs_kitchen REVIEW:

Love this recipe when it's too hot to turn on the oven. My old electric skillet didn't heat evenly but when I got a new one this recipe worked like a charm - so if it doesn't cook evenly for you it might be your skillet! Just FYI!
