Ah, the unassuming envelope of onion soup mix. It's more than just for onion soup (or dip). It adds tremendous flavor (and convenience) in all these recipes.

Wrapping one outstanding food around another couldn't possibly go wrong, especially when one of those foods is bacon. These surf and turf morsels may just be appetizers, but chances are you'll want them as a main course.

20 large shrimp, peeled, deveined, tail on (if desired)
10 slices bacon, cut in half
Preheat a gas or charcoal grill to medium heat. Grease the cooking grates.
Wrap one half slice of bacon around each piece of shrimp and secure the ends with a toothpick.
Place the shrimp on the grill and cook for 4 minutes, turning the shrimp over halfway through the cooking time. Cook until the bacon is fully cooked.
Remove the shrimp from the grill and serve hot.

Love buffalo wings? Get that same hot, zippy flavor in everything from deviled eggs to enchiladas. And of course: wings.
The name, vodka, comes from the Russian phrase zhiznennaia voda, or "water of life". It can be made from everything from potatoes to beets. It's considered to be fairly flavorless which makes it a great liquor for mixed drinks.

Too cold to grill so I made these under the broiler. Put three shrimp on a skewer. Sprinkled the almost cooked bacon with a little brown sugar and let it caramelize. YUMMM!
