ingredients

oil to deep fry in
1 can refrigerated biscuit dough
1/3 cup sugar

directions

Heat oil in a deep fryer to 350 degrees F. You can also use a deep skillet or dutch oven, adding enough oil to be 2-3 inches deep.

Remove the biscuits from the can. You can cut them smaller if desired. Add them in batches to the fryer, trying to keep them separate when adding them so they don't stick together.

Fry until golden brown on both sides. Remove from the oil and drain on paper towels.

While the donuts are frying, place the sugar in a small bowl. When the donuts are cool, toss them in the sugar to coat on all sides.

After we use the deep fryer we always do a batch of these for dessert. You get better results in the fryer vs in a pan just fyi which is why if we have the fryer out we get one more use out of it. We also add some cinnamon to the sugar for the final coat.

These taste just like the fried dough you get at a Chinese buffet near us. My kids love these and they are so easy to make

  5. Spanish Don REVIEW:

Hey, this is just how we make them in our restaurant and everyone thinks they are homemade...Use grands and flatten them out a little to make a larger doughnut..Try it,an easy way to get the kids involved in making them and eating them together later...

  6. Di REVIEW:

We used to make these donuts when I was young. You can make them a couple different ways- roll them in powdered sugar and the other way is mix regular sugar with cinnamon and roll it in there. yummy.
