  1. lrwhite REVIEW:

This recipe is a low carb ketchup that uses tomato juice as the base. It's also sugar free and has great flavors from the onion, garlic, and pepper flakes. Just be careful with your ratios because this recipe is different from the typical ketchup you're used to.

  2. hotchef REVIEW:

I find most commercial ketchup too sweet so I omitted the sugar substitute in this and it was more to my liking. I also used fresh made tomato juice and cut the recipe in half. Very easy to make and far healthier than bottled stuff.

  3. chefdenny REVIEW:

I cut the recipe in half and it worked brilliantly. I used a low sodium tomato juice and add my own salt to taste (more control over the flavor that way). Also I didn't add the sugar until it was mostly reduced because most sugar substitutes really aren't meant for high heat so their flavor can be altered. It depends what substitute you use though.

  4. countrycooking REVIEW:

I'm not doing a low carb diet really but I'm trying to remove sugar from my diet. I cut the recipe down to only make a few ounces to try it out first before making a full batch. It worked really well so I'm going to make more. I did add salt and pepper to season it. I wonder if it would work with something like spicy V8 juice for more flavor?

  5. jcmason REVIEW:

Good ketchup recipe.... I used honey instead of Splenda and also used onion powder instead of juice. Easy to make and store in squeeze bottles or make a lot and can.

  6. Diana55 REVIEW:

I loved the recipe, it works well in my low carb diet. If I could make one sugestion for those who like a little spicer version. I added one tablespoon worchestershire sauce and a drop of hot sauce.
