Chicken Fingers with Red Plum Sauce

ingredients
6 chicken breast, boned and skinned
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon Greek seasoning
soft bread crumbs
1/2 cup sesame seeds
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon paprika
2 cloves garlic
1 1/2 cup buttermilk
1/4 cup butter
Plum Sauce
1 1/2 cup red plum jam
1 1/2 tablespoon prepared mustard
1 1/2 tablespoon horseradish
1 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
directions
Cut chicken into 1/2 inch strips and combine all other ingredients except plum sauce, sesame seeds, butter, and bread crumbs.
Mix the chicken with liquid mixture, mixing well until chicken is well coated. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
Drain chicken, toss in 4 cups soft bread crumbs and 1/2 cup sesame seeds. Place in 2 greased casseroles.
Melt 1/4 cup butter and 1/4 cup shortening together, brush on chicken strips and bake in a 350 degrees F oven for 35-40 minutes. Serve with Plum Sauce.
For Plum Sauce: Over low heat, melt the plum jam and add the other ingredients. Stir until well blended.

what the heck? I got in the middle of this after buying all the ingredients....to find that I don't see where you add the buttermilk?! where in the instructions does it say to use the buttermilk that is listed to buy? would really appreciate an answer as I plan to make this tomorrow again!
The recipe says "combine all other ingredients except plum sauce, sesame seeds, butter, and bread crumbs" which would include the buttermilk.
