Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.

It's in the oven right now, and it smells delicious! But I had to make a few changes...I added way more seasoning salt than the recipe called for, and I topped the crust with sliced tomatoes, lemon pepper, and parsley. My boyfriend and I can't wait to dig in! Thanks for a great recipe idea. We're really going to enjoy this.
