A can of cream of mushroom soup can be a real dinner saver. It works great in casseroles and can turn into a sauce or gravy in a pinch.

This slow-cooker beer brisket delivers, with hardly any effort on your part. Thickening up the extra juices with cornstarch makes a rich gravy to drizzle over top of the brisket when serving.

3 pounds lean beef roast
2 onions, sliced
1 bay leaf
1 cup beer
1/4 cup chili sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 clove garlic, minced
2 tablespoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons water
Place the roast, onions, and bay leaf in the crock pot.
In a bowl, stir together the beer, chili sauce, brown sugar, thyme, salt, pepper, and garlic. Mix well then pour over the roast.
Cover the crock pot and cook on low heat for 8-10 hours or until the beef is tender.
Remove the roast to a platter or cutting board. Remove the bay leaf from the crock pot. Skim any visible fat from the liquid in the crock pot. Turn the crock pot to high heat setting.
Combine the cornstarch and water. Stir into the juices in the crock pot and cook until thickened, about 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, carve the roast as desired. Serve the meat with the gravy.

The name, vodka, comes from the Russian phrase zhiznennaia voda, or "water of life". It can be made from everything from potatoes to beets. It's considered to be fairly flavorless which makes it a great liquor for mixed drinks.
Beer makes batters better, meat more tender, and sauces more flavorful.

Took a little advice from reviewers added bbq. Got creative and also added Worcestershire, rosemary, and used Victory Golden Monkey that has a high abv, served with corn bread and AWESOME!

This is so yummy! I've made it twice and everyone loved it! It's so easy, I put it in the crockpot the night before and it's all ready in the morning. I serve it on potato rolls, with baked beans and veggies. The house smells so good!

Great recipe, but the quote "Leftover beer can be frozen" is wrong. Not incorrect, just wrong. You pour the first cup of beer into the measuring cup (or straight into the crock pot), and drink the rest. Like a man. You finish that bottle, like a man. I catch you freezing leftover beer in my house, and we are going to have a problem.

This was delicious!!! The house smelled great. I recommend serving with rice and using the crockpot juices as a rice topping. =)
