Potato Soup with Wine

ingredients
2 slices bacon, finely diced
2 onions, chopped
4 medium potatoes, diced
2 bouillon cubes
3 cups hot water
1 bay leaf
2 tablespoons chopped parsley
2 cups milk or half-and-half
1/2 cup white wine
salt
paprika
croutons (optional)
directions
Dissolve the bouillon in the water.
Cook the bacon in a stock pot, draining as needed leaving some grease in the pan. Add the onions and cook until translucent.
Stir in the potatoes, bouillon, and bay leaf. Cook until potatoes are tender. Stir in parsley, milk, wine.
Adjust seasonings and serve with croutons.
