ingredients
5 pounds beef or pork roast, excess fat trimmed
1 can (10.75 ounce size) French onion soup
6 ounces water
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon fennel seed
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
directions
Place the roast in the crock pot.
Combine the remaining ingredients and pour over the roast.
Cover the crock pot and cook on low heat for 8-10 hours or until the meat is tender.
Remove the meat to a cutting board or platter. Shred it using two forks. Return the shredded meat to the crock pot and stir well. Turn the crock pot off and let the meat sit in the juices for 10 minutes.
Remove the meat with tongs, letting excess juice drip off. Place the meat on submarine or hoagie rolls and add any desired toppings. Serve immediately.
