ingredients

1 pound ground beef
5 potatoes, cut into french fry like strips
2 onions, chopped
1 can (16 ounce size) light red kidney beans, drained*
1/4 pound velveeta cheese, cubed
1 can (10.75 ounce size) tomato soup
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
butter

directions

Brown the ground beef and drain.

Layer in slow cooker in this order: ground beef, potatoes, onions, kidney beans and cheese. Pour soup over top. Season with salt and pepper. Dot with butter. Cover. Cook on low 6-8 hours.

cook's notes

* We don't use the beans. We use carrots

This is particularly good with Parmesan cheese sprinkled on top at table. Not the one that I usually do but this is what I am doing today.
