Slow Cooker San Francisco Stew

ingredients
1 1/2 pound ground beef
1 onion, coarsely chopped
1 can (28 ounce size) pork & beans
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 can (15 ounce size) stewed tomatoes
4 slices raw bacon, cut up
directions
Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and onions. Cook, stirring, until the beef is browned and the onion is soft. Drain off excess grease.
Add the beef mixture to the crock pot. Stir in the beans, brown sugar, tomatoes, and bacon. Mix well.
Cover and cook on low for 5-6 hours or until heated through. Stir well then serve hot.

Grew up in Sacramento and my grandma used to make this for us. Absolutely wonderful. She added a little minced garlic and if she had a can of white or red beans in the pantry, she'd add that, too. As Rachel says, "Yummo!"
