This iconic whiskey is a "Jack of all trades" when it comes to cooking. Toss it in some pasta, as a savory dipping sauce, and even bake it into something sweet.

With a touch of sweetness from honey and a multitude of spices, this simple spaghetti sauce will surprise you by how easy it is to make.

1 pound ground beef
1 large onion, diced
1/2 pound fresh mushrooms, sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
4 medium tomatoes, diced
2 cans (6 ounce size) tomato paste
1 cup water
2 tablespoons soy sauce
3 bay leaves
2 teaspoons dried basil
2 teaspoons dried oregano
2 teaspoons dried parsley flakes
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon honey
1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary
1 dash black pepper
hot cooked spaghetti pasta
Brown the ground beef and onion in a skillet over medium heat. Drain off any excess grease. Add the mushrooms and garlic and cook, stirring frequently, until the mushrooms are soft.
Add the remaining ingredients except the cooked pasta. Mix well then bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to a simmer, cover the skillet, and cook for 20 minutes.
Remove the bay leaves from the sauce. Serve the sauce over the cooked spaghetti (or toss the spaghetti in the sauce before serving).

Of course, I can't leave any recipe alone. I wasn't keen on the soy sauce so I omitted it and added an extra 1/2 tsp of salt. I also needed a bit more so I added 4 oz of tomato sauce and 1/2c water. Also didn't have any honey so I used 1 tsp of sugar. This recipe is amazing. The longer it cooked, the better it got. I uploaded the photo too! I'm using it for lasagna. Yummy!

Made this recipe just as directed except I used just 1 - 6 oz. can of tomato paste. It turned out with perfect thickness. This was enjoyed by all. Thanks.

I've made this 3 times now and have enjoyed it more each time. Instead of using individual seasonings, I just use an italian seasoning blend that includes all the ingrediants which works well enough for me. I've made this for my friends and also my Fiancee and they all enjoy it!
