The secret to Popeye's tender biscuits? That's right, sour cream and lemon-lime soda. That plus a few more ingredients is all you need to whip up this copycat recipe.

ingredients

4 cups Bisquick baking mix
8 ounces sour cream
3/4 cup 7-up or Sprite
1/4 cup butter, melted

directions

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.

Combine the baking mix, sour cream, and 7-up in a bowl and mix until a dough forms. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured work surface. Roll out the dough with a rolling pin and then cut with a biscuit cutter.

Dip the biscuits in the melted butter, letting any excess drip off. Place the biscuits on a rimmed baking sheet. Drizzle the remaining butter over the tops.

Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake at 425 degrees F for 15 minutes or until the biscuits are cooked.

  1. Chris REVIEW:

Very good, easy and satisfies the biscuit craving.....but 481 calories per biscuit?!?! Yikes! Maybe good for a treat once a year!!!!!!

  2. Emma Kendrick REVIEW:

This recipe is easy to make. I was looking for a recipe that closely resembles the Popeye’s biscuits that we get with the chicken. This recipe produces a much lighter, flakier biscuit. So I can’t recommend this recipe as a good copycat. The biscuits are still good to eat.

  6. Jane Dough REVIEW:

We don't have Popeyes near me but these biscuits are good! They have a more, um, creamy? texture - less flaky I guess you could say, but I prefer them this way (I know biscuits are a regional thing so you might like them flaky over creamy)
