under 30 minutes
ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/3 cup orange marmalade
1/3 cup shortening
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk
directions
Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt. Cut in the shortening until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add the milk and marmalade, stir with fork until a soft dough is formed.
Turn out the dough to about 1/2 inch thickness. Cut with a 1 1/2 or 2 1/2 inch cutter (depending on the size of biscuit you want).
Place the biscuits on an ungreased baking sheet. Using a fork, prick the tops of the biscuits. Bake in a 450 degrees F oven for 10 to 11 minutes, or until done. Serve warm.
