Ah, the unassuming envelope of onion soup mix. It's more than just for onion soup (or dip). It adds tremendous flavor (and convenience) in all these recipes.

under 30 minutes
ingredients
1 pound crab meat
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon white pepper
1 tablespoon butter
1 pint milk
1 pint light cream
1/2 teaspoon Tabasco sauce or more to taste
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
6 tablespoons sherry
directions
Bring crab, salt, pepper, butter and milk to a slow simmer; let simmer very slowly for 10 minutes.
Add cream and sauces. Bring to boiling point, but do not boil. Stir as little as possible so as not to break up crab meat.
Add sherry; let stand just a moment. Remove from burner. Serve in warm cups topped with lemon slices and chopped parsley.

It may look like a sad little package shoved in the back of your freezer, but frozen spinach actually has a lot of culinary uses (and some may surprise you).
The name, vodka, comes from the Russian phrase zhiznennaia voda, or "water of life". It can be made from everything from potatoes to beets. It's considered to be fairly flavorless which makes it a great liquor for mixed drinks.
