ingredients
1 pound ground beef
2 pounds ground pork
6 cups water
3 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons black pepper, ground course
2 1/2 cups pinhead oats
2 large onions, chopped
6 bay leaves
directions
Put water, salt and pepper into a pot and bring to a gentle boil. Add oats and cook for 1 1/2 hours, covered. Stir every 15 minutes.
Add meats, onion and bay leaves. Mix well. Cover and cook on low for 3 hours. If it's too wet, remove cover and allow to thicken. Pour into containers and cool.
