Ah, the unassuming envelope of onion soup mix. It's more than just for onion soup (or dip). It adds tremendous flavor (and convenience) in all these recipes.

ingredients
1 pound ground beef
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 can (10.75 ounce size) condensed cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
1 can (10.75 ounce size) condensed tomato soup, undiluted
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning, crushed
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon bottled Tabasco hot pepper sauce
1 dash cayenne pepper
10 ounces dried spaghetti pasta
shredded Parmesan cheese (optional)
directions
In a large saucepan or a Dutch oven, cook the ground beef and onion until meat is browned and onion is tender. Drain fat.
Stir in the mushroom soup, tomato soup, Italian seasoning, chili powder, black pepper, hot pepper sauce, and cayenne pepper. Bring to boiling, reduce heat to low. Simmer, covered, for 20 minutes, or place covered pan in a preheated 300 degrees F oven for 20 to 30 minutes.
Cook spaghetti according to package directions, about 8 minutes, drain well.
Serve sauce over hot spaghetti. If desired, serve with Parmesan cheese.
