1/4 cup butter 1 cup packed light brown sugar 1 egg, beaten 3/4 cup all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/4 cup chopped pecans confectioners' sugar, for dusting

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray an 8-inch square pan with vegetable oil cooking spray.
In a small saucepan, melt the butter. Turn off the heat, add the brown sugar and stir until smooth. Stir in the egg. Stir together the flour and baking powder and stir into the brown sugar mixture.
Stir in the vanilla and pecans. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 20 minutes. When cool, dust the top with a sifting of confectioners' sugar.

i disagree on the level of this i think it is more of a 2 my 5 yr old made this except i put in oven and took out
they are really good this is my first recipe i have made from this site and i will be making more
