Orange Slice Candy Cake

ingredients
1 cup soft butter or margarine
4 eggs
2 cups white sugar
1 pound orange slice candy
4 cups flour
1/2 cup coconut
1 teaspoon baking soda
dash salt
1 1/2 cup buttermilk
1 cup chopped nutmeats
1 pound chopped dates
Glaze
1 cup orange juice
1 cup sugar
directions
Cream butter, sugar and eggs until light and fluffy. Sift flour, baking soda and salt together; add candy, dates, coconut and nutmeats until all is coated with flour mixture. Gradually beat into creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk.
Pour into greased and floured 12-cup bundt pan. Bake at 250 degrees F for 3 to 3 1/2 hours or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Prepare following glaze and drizzle over hot cake.
Glaze: Mix orange juice and sugar until sugar is dissolved.

Though I've yet to try this particular recipe, I've been searching for it for years. My Dear departed Mother always made this for me and I remember it was WONDERFUL! I will write a review as soon as I try it.
