Slow Cooker Simple Eggless Rice Pudding

ingredients
1 cup long-grain rice
6 cups milk (skim or 1%)
1/3 cup sugar
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
raisins (opt)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
directions
Combine the rice, milk, sugar, and cinnamon in the crock pot. Stir in the raisins if using.
Cover, cook on high for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to low and cook for 6-8 hours.
If your crock pot cooks "hot", cook on low for 4-5 hours. You can also cook this on the warm setting overnight to serve this as a hot breakfast.
When cooked, stir in the vanilla. If desired you can stir in fruit as well.

This recipe needs SALT. I also added butter. I was comfortable with the sweetness, but my kids requested more sugar. I cooked the pudding overnight on "keep warm" setting, then turned up to low for the last hour or so because it was still a bit soupy. I liked the texture.
