Ah, the unassuming envelope of onion soup mix. It's more than just for onion soup (or dip). It adds tremendous flavor (and convenience) in all these recipes.

- #84213
under 30 minutes
ingredients
1/2 cup frozen diced onions
1 tablespoon roasted garlic
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
1 pound Italian sausage links
1 jar (26 ounce size) tomato basil pasta sauce
1 1/2 cup water
1 package (9 ounce size) refrigerated four-cheese ravioli
directions
Place onions, garlic, and olive oil in large saucepan over medium-high heat.
Remove casing from sausage by cutting off one end of casing and squeezing contents into pan. Slide casing through fingers to remove entire contents. Cook 5-7 minutes until meat is brown and no pink remains. Stir frequently and break meat up as it cooks.
Stir in remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil and cook 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender and sauce thickens. Serve.

Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.
