Not to be confused with evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk is very sweet (and very sticky) and used primarily in desserts.

Simple cheese crisps made with just one ingredient: cheese! A great low carb snack which can be eaten plain, topped with ingredients nacho-style, or used as crackers with dip.
1 1/2 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
Heat an 8-inch non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1/4 cup of the shredded Cheddar cheese, spreading it out slightly so it's almost an even thickness.
Cook the cheese until it is lightly browned on the bottom. Carefully turn the cheese crisp over and cook for another 15 seconds or until browned. Remove the cheese crisp to paper toweling to cool and let some of the grease be absorbed by the paper toweling.
Wipe the skillet with a paper towel and repeat with the remaining cheese.
Serve the fried cheese crisps immediately or store in an airtight container at room temperature between layers of waxed paper for up to 3 days.
Experiment with different types of cheeses for a variety of flavors and textures in your crisps.
Make sure to cook the cheese until it's browned and crispy, but be careful not to burn it.
Try adding a sprinkle of smoked paprika or garlic powder for extra flavor in your cheese crisps.
For a twist, mix in some finely chopped herbs or spices into the cheese before cooking.
If the cheese crisps aren't crisping up enough, try cooking them on a lower heat for longer to prevent burning.
To add a little kick to your cheese crisps, try sprinkling some red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper on top before cooking.
Most cheeses with a high melt point will work such as halloumi, queso blanco, paneer, mozzarella, other cheddars, and provolone.
Pre-shredded cheese usually contains additives that prevent it from melting as nicely as freshly shredded cheese, so it's best to shred your own cheese for this recipe.
Cheese crisps are best served immediately, but if needed, they can be briefly reheated in the oven to crisp them up again.
You can sprinkle seasonings or herbs on top of the cheese before cooking to add extra flavor to the crisps.
8-inch Non-Stick Skillet: For frying the cheese crisps, making sure they do not stick to the pan.
Paper Towels: For draining excess grease from the fried cheese crisps, preventing them from becoming too greasy.
Waxed Paper: For storing the fried cheese crisps between layers, keeping them fresh for up to 3 days.
Pepper jelly: Add a dollop of sweet and spicy pepper jelly on top of these cheese crisps for a flavor explosion.
Sliced avocado: For a fresh and creamy addition, top these cheese crisps with sliced avocado. The buttery texture of the avocado will balance out the sharpness of the cheddar, creating a satisfying snack that's easy to assemble.
Guacamole: because who doesn't love cheesy chips with a dollop of creamy guac on top? It's like a fancy nachos upgrade.
Bacon Bits: everything is better with bacon, right? Sprinkle some bacon bits on top of your cheese crisps before they firm up for a salty, savory twist.
Jalapenos: kick up the heat with some sliced jalapenos on top. The spicy kick will take your cheese crisps to the next level of flavor town. Pro Tip: you can also use jalapeno cheddar cheese.

Just was thinking about this was great and easy and cost less money than the Parmesan crisps that were really small I paid $4 for a small bag thank you
Yummy! Iceland has a product called "Lava Cheese" that is basically THIS. Fried cheese, nothing else added other than maybe spices... they have a cheddar, smoked, and chili version. Sold with other chips/crackers in stores around Iceland. We can make our own!

I place the cheese in a single layer on a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Bake 350 for just a few minutes. Cut into any shape with pizza cutter

I cooked a cheese toaster for too long & the cheese that ran out of it went crispy & tasted awesome, so I looked up how to fry cheese & found your posts! Excellent, great to know that itâs low carb & a great way to remove a fair amount of fat from the cheese. My Grandkids love it too, so thanks everyone, for all the info on our new, favourite snack! Yummo 🙏 👍

Great snack!!

Great to see the nutritional info. As I recently developed gallbladder disease I was looking for a lower fat way to do these. I put cheddar slices in the pan, melted on medium heat until the oil separated, poured that off. Continued to cook until golden on the edges, cooled. When removed, it was crispy, lower fat, and didn't bother my GB.

Don't use pre-shredded cheese for best results. Get a big block of cheese and grate it yourself (it's actually cheaper too that way). This is a great snack for low-carbers!
You can make cheese crisps more quickly in the microwave. Cut 2 slices of cheddar cheese into quarters or eighths and arrange in circle on parchment paper and microwave on high for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes. Monterrey Jack, Pepper Jack, and Swiss cheese work as well. Provolone does not crisp well. Enjoy. You can also nuke 14 pepperoni slices (on parchment paper) for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes for meat chips.
