Instant Cream Sauce Mix

Make ahead and use as needed. This cream sauce mix works great in a pinch for topping vegetables, seafood, or anywhere you need a white sauce.

ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup butter, softened
2 1/2 cups dry milk powder
3 teaspoons salt

directions

In a bowl, stir together the flour, butter, dry milk powder, and salt. Work the mixture until it forms a dough. Knead it until smooth.

Place the dough in an airtight container and store in the refrigerator until needed. Mixture will keep for up to 1 month.

To use: Take out 1/2 cup of the dough and slowly blend it with 1 cup hot water. For a thicker sauce, use less water. For a thinner sauce, use more.
