Of course this diablo sauce has a devilish kick to it, but it's more than just spicy for the sake of spicy. Steak sauce and a generous splash of liquid smoke give the sauce a depth to back up the fiery heat and make it perfect for grilled meats.

1 bottle (16 ounce size) plain ketchup
1/2 cup white corn syrup
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
2 tablespoons A-1 steak sauce
8 drops Tabasco sauce
1 1/2 tablespoon liquid smoke
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
black pepper, to taste
Worcestershire powder to taste
Blend the ketchup, corn syrup, vinegar, A-1 sauce and Tabasco over a medium heat. Stir until blended well.
Add remaining ingredients. Bring temperature up until simmering, lower heat and cook for 5 to 10 minutes.
May be used over sausage which has had the fat rendered out by steaming or boiling.
