Ah, the unassuming envelope of onion soup mix. It's more than just for onion soup (or dip). It adds tremendous flavor (and convenience) in all these recipes.

3 pounds ground beef
2 cans (6 ounce size) tomato paste
1 can (28 ounce size) diced tomatoes, undrained
3 tablespoons chili powder
2 teaspoons salt
2 cloves garlic, chopped
Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess grease.
Transfer the beef to a crock pot. Add the tomato paste, diced tomatoes, chili powder, salt, and garlic. Mix well.
Cover the crock pot and cook on low heat for 3-4 hours or until heated through.
Can be used on chili dogs, served on buns, spread on tortillas, on nachos, over rice, etc.
