Ingredients: 1 bottle (16 ounce size) plain ketchup 1/2 cup white corn syrup 1/4 cup red wine vinegar 2 tablespoons A-1 steak sauce 8 drops Tabasco sauce, or more if desired 1 1/2 tablespoon liquid smoke 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard black pepper, to taste Worcestershire sauce to taste
Directions: Combine the ketchup, corn syrup, red wine vinegar, A-1 sauce, and Tabasco in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir well.
Add the liquid smoke, garlic powder, dry mustard, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well.
Bring the mixture just barely to a boil, then reduce the heat to a low simmer. Let the sauce cook for 5-10 minutes or until slightly thickened.
Remove the pan from the heat and let it cool slightly before using. Or, let it cool completely before storing it in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
