
Deluxe Mushroom Green Bean Casserole

2 tablespoons butter
1 package (10 ounce size) fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 can (10.75 ounce size) cream of mushroom soup
3/4 cup cream, half and half, or milk
1 tablespoon white wine (optional)
6 cups cooked halved fresh green beans
2 cups french fried onions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the mushrooms and cook, stirring frequently, until soft and lightly browned.
In a bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, cream, and wine. Mix well. Stir in the mushrooms, green beans, and half of the fried onions. Transfer the green bean mixture to a baking dish.
Place the baking dish in the oven and bake at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes or until heated through and bubbly in the center. Stir gently. Top the casserole with the remaining fried onions and return to the oven. Let bake for 5 more minutes or until the onions are lightly toasted.
Serve hot.
