Eggs Benedict
A classic recipe that emerged from the famous Delmonico's in New York. Mr. and Mrs. Benedict, regulars at Delmonico's, complained that there was nothing new on the lunch menu. To please their important patrons, the chef and manager quickly put together what is now known as "Eggs Benedict".
The original recipe consists of a toasted English muffin topped with a slice of ham or Canadian bacon. A poached egg is placed on top and Hollandaise sauce is drizzled over the entire open-faced sandwich.
