June 10th, 2025 is National Black Cow Day

You may know it as a black cow, or maybe you're more familiar with the less whimsical, more descriptive term "root beer float." But this delicious drink is nothing if not flexible. "Ice cream soda" also describes it. In some parts of the country, black cows are called "brown cows" when chocolate ice cream is added. Purple cows substitute grape soda pop for the root beer.
And it's all good. It even has its own quasi-holiday, National Black Cow Day. So make a beeline for your local drive-in or drive-through and tell 'em "I'll have a black cow."
