Fun Food Holidays™ April 12th is National Licorice Day

National Licorice Day

Black licorice, the original flavor of the long-popular candy, comes from the liquorice plant, which is a legume! Red licorice, those chewy, twisty ropes of cherry or strawberry, are artificially flavored and are not technically licorice. But this fun food makes a lot of kids happy. That merits its own Fun Food Holiday, wouldn't you agree?
