November 17th, 2025 is National Baklava Day
The Turks probably invented it, or maybe it was created elsewhere in the Middle East. But one thing's for sure: baklava is one old fashioned dessert. The earliest known recipe for baklava shows that the delicate pastry made of phyllo dough, nuts, and honey had made its way to China already by the 1300s!
