It's the dog days of summer, so it's once again time for National Watermelon Day! This juicy melon can be found at parks, picnics, and potlucks throughout North America, and they come in sizes that can feed a crowd or serve just one or two people. Seedless hybrids are fast-growing in popularity, so seed-spitting contests have largely gone the way of the steamboat and sewing circle. But they're still fun to eat!
