This has been a special week for us here at CDKitchen! We're celebrating our 20th year online this weekend. That's 20 years of mouth-watering recipes - like the ones we shared this week!

We've pretty much seen it all - any vegetable or fruit seems to be turned into a smoothie these days. For a healthy smoothie it's a great way to sneak extra veggies (and vitamins!) into your day. They can also satisfy a sweet tooth if you go for the more dessert-style smoothies. Just a few ingredients and a blender and you've got yourself a smoothie. Check out some of the delicious ingredient combinations in these smoothies - from healthy veggies to candy bars!

A cold treat is always welcome in the dog days of summer. If the hot weather of August makes you dream of Creamsicles, you are not alone. The fruity ice pop takes center stick on National Creamsicle Day!

by
Fried rice can be a side dish or an entree all by itself. It's a great way to use up leftover proteins like chicken, seafood, pork, beef, or whatever you have on hand. It's a flexible dish which allows you to be as creative as some of these recipes.

Are you tired of s'mores yet? Us either! Especially with these fantastic twists on the old campfire stand-by!

by
When you think of burgers it usually invokes visions of juicy beef burgers on the grill. Well, there are more to burgers than just beef! Check out this collection of delicious non-beef burgers made with everything from salmon to sweet potatoes.

by
When it comes to chocolate, Graham crackers, and marshmallows, all you have to say is 'gimme s'mores!' Light your camp stove or bonfire and be sure to observe National S'mores Day.

A frittata is an Italian omelet. French omelets have the ingredients folded inside them but the Italian version includes them in the egg mixture itself. Serve a lighter version for breakfast or lunch, or a hearty one for dinner (brinner!). Other than the eggs, there are no set-in-stone ingredients that go into a frittata as you'll see in some of the recipes we've collected.

From one-dish dinners to simple sides, your favorite skillet comes in handy with these recipes we've collected from CDKitchen and our favorite food blogs.

by
Whether spiced or sweetened, some form of rice pudding is consumed on virtually every continent. A simple side dish or dessert, different nations seem to impart their own signature flavor to rice pudding, from the saffron added to it in Iran, to the cinnamon and cherries mixed in by many Germans.

by
Frozen custard may have originated on Coney Island like so many other novelties and confections. With less air than ice cream, it's denser and smoother than ice cream but refreshes just as well. It's no coincidence that National Frozen Custard Day falls in August. Beat the heat with this delicious, cooling treat!
