No, The ChiliDog's Kitchen isn't dedicated to the culinary art of chili dogs. It actually was named after 9 year old Dalmatian, Chili...hence...The ChiliDog. Below is a pic taken from an article published in the Mpls Star Tribune in 1997 about "cooking on the internet".
ChiliDog's Kitchen began in 1995 as a simple hobby website. In 1997 its name was shortened to CDKitchen as its popularity soared. Going from a hobby website, to a massive online cooking resource, CDKitchen is now one of the largest and most popular cooking websites in existence. Millions of people visit the site every month in search of recipes, cooking tips, informative articles and more. Some even come just to play the cooking games!
CDKitchen, Inc. is still primarily run by Valerie Whitmore - the original designer, developer, and creator. However, CDKitchen wouldn't be what it is without the work of our staff and the wonderful recipe contributions from the internet community. Each day the site receives hundreds of recipe submissions from generous people who wish to share their recipes.
Valerie, and her husband Brent, live in Austin, Texas, with their current Dalmatians, Widget and Browser. When not absorbed in CDKitchen business, Valerie enjoys the outdoors, photography, and of course, cooking. Some of her most talked about dishes are paella, seafood stuffed roast, peanut butter chocolate torte, triple-layer fudge, and chocolate java cream cake.
